  • CARLE, FRANKIE (LP/33) Plays the Great Piano Hits (RCA Victor, Mono, 1965 (EX-)

There is only 1 item left in stock.

HERE IS FRANKIE CARLE PLAYS THE GREAT PIANO HITS on RCA Victor Dynagroove Recording LPM-3425 (MONO) 1965.  Stamped Matrix reads:  -SPRM-4276--1S.  Back cover has a review of the record and it is by Composer/Recording Artist/Poet/Writer Rod McKuen!  Frankie was a great American pianist, besides a band leader, and was born in 1903.  He lived 97 years!  He was also Italian and his original name was Francesco Nunzio Carlone.  His star stamp is on the Hollywood Walk of Fame street.  The album is a mix of mellow and then very rhythmic tunes! All instrumental.

You can see the song list on the label pictures I took.  The cover is still in shrinkwrap, but it is open at the right side.  I just see a little darkening of the right open seam due to age and hand handling.  Comes in colorful RCA Victor inner sleeve advertising other artists. The RCA Victor label with brown and white dog and Victrola on it is in great condition.  Side 1 has about all of 2-3 light surface scratches.  But Side 2 has a stronger scratch halfway across the first song and I did feel it.  But I when I played the album through on my Technics turntable/KLH speakers, it did not skip or pop there.  I heard for a short time a very light tick as it was going over the scratch, but it was sooooo light that you don't really notice it when you are listening, but moving around.  So I'm stunned, but thrilled with that!  Overall, no skips, pops, or noticeable crackles.

I rate the cover as Very Good Plus (VG+) to Excellent (EX).  The vinyl gets an EXCELLENT for sound performance and between VG+/EX for having that scratch that didn't cause any skips or bad pop.
