Found a rare 45 rpm buried way
back in my cabinets! On Blue Rock label B-4056, from 1968, are The
Commotions with "We'll Make It Someday/Handy Man. The band was from the
state of Delaware, but I don't know anything about them, other than
it's a funky/soul type tune. Side 2 (Handy Man) has a woman singing
this. Both tunes are upbeat, great funk.
I see 2 light scratches and minimal scuffs at the beginning matrix before the grooves start on Side 1 and Side 2 I see 3 light scratches (one is 1" long), but they are unfeelable and I played it through with no skips or pops. There is very minimal surface crackling (at least on my Technics turntable from the '90s, but new needle). It sounds great overall. Not perfectly crystal clear as if it was new, but still great! I will have to include a plain white sleeve.
I rate the record quality at Very Good Plus (VG+).
