  • JAMES, SONNY (LP/33rpm) Behind The Tear. Capitol ST2415, 1965 (VG)

There is only 1 item left in stock.

Sonny James (12" LP/33rpm) entitled Behind The Tear.  Frim 1965.  Capitol ST-2415.  Matrix reads:  ST1-2415-W1 #2.  He was a country singer and songwriter since the early 1950s.  He passed away in February 2016.  Was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

This album still has shrinkwrap on it, but opened at the right side to let the LP out.  I don't see any ringwear.  All looks good on the cover.  The back covers left side just shows a little bit of it being a darker beige instead of white due to age.  No writing or marks on it.  Comes with a Capitol beige/black inner sleeve showing other LP covers and their listings.  Side 1:  Quite a few light surface scratches all over and some in the matrix.  There is a 1/2" scratch in the second last tune that I can sort of feel, but not too deep and did not affect the sound performance.  No pops or skips.  Side 2 has a little bit less with the surface scratches, but has a group of scuffing in the matrix.  There was a light crackling throughout during playback on both sides.  Not overwhelming, but you can hear it a bit.  Listening with the speakers only 3 feet away from you, you hear it, but moving into another room, the crackles tone down a bit.

I give the cover an Excellent (EX) due to no ringwear.  The Vinyl gets a Very Good (VG) only due to the light surface crackling.
