  • SILKIE (The) (LP/33 rpm) You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Mono MGF 27548, 1965

There is only 1 item left in stock.

Here are THE SILKIE with the album "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away."  From 1965.  It's mono.  Says A custom High Fidelity Recording which is Mono for Fontana.  MGF-27548.  They were known as an English folk group.  The Silkie sang these songs which were done by the Byrds, Beatles, and Bob Dylan.  Some of the Beatles are playing on this LP.  John, George, and Paul did!  The cover is not the purple border one with b/w photo.  The color border is more of a navy blue color and the photo is in color (that is, inbetween the white fade marks!)  I see in my Goldmine Price Guide that a Near Mint copy of the full color cover like mine is valued at $50!  Too bad this one isn't a Near Mint Copy.  Only a Very Good for sound quality.

Side 1:  You've Got to Hide Your Love Away; The Times They are A-Changin'; Mr. Tambourine Man; Close the Door Gently; Dylan's Dream; Girl of the North Country.
Side 2:  Blowin' In The Wind; Blood Red River; Love Minus Zero/No Limit; It Ain't Me Babe; Tomorrow Is A Long Time; City Winds.

The cover does show a lot of white fade marks he white ringwear - obviously!  No where near as much of this on the back side, but there are still some darker fade marks around.  The top seam has about a 4" tear (photo attached) and about a 2" tear at the bottom right seam, too.  Will come with a plain inside sleeve.  Fontana label is fine.  Tehrr are about 5 long light surface scratches across Side 1 and lots of smaller light ones.  Same for Side 2.  Playback was okay.  No skips.  But a very light general crackling throughout playback on most songs.  It didn't detract too much from the sound playback, but you know it's an old vinyl record!

I rate the album cover as just Good Plus (G+) because of the ringwear/worn side seams, and the vinyl at Very Good (VG) because of the light surface crackles throughout.
